Setting Up The Charging Station
Setting Up
- The location of the base station must be even and firm.
- The base station adapter must have access to a power supply.
- There must be no obstacles or corners within 2 meters in front.
- Fix the front part of the boundary wire under the station.
- Align the boundary wire to the grooves under the station.
- Lay the wire on the lawn in an anticlockwise direction.
- Fix the base station to the ground, using the base station pegs provided (see right).
- Peg the boundary wire to the lawn about every 2 metres (or, bury the boundary wire).
- Note the distance between the wire and the lawn edge. (it should not less than 40cm).
- The charging station must face the anticlockwise direction of the fence line.
- The base station must be placed on a flat surface.
- Do not put it on an inclined surface
- To protect the base station against being hit by the mower, arrange the wire around the station.
- The mower will follow the wire in a clockwise direction to return to the station.
- So, face the station to the wire in a way to allow this.
Setting The Mowing Height
Setting Up The Boundary Wire
Referring to the Wombat III User Manual diagram above:
A) The boundary wire connects at the back of the base station and runs underneath it.
- It should run in an anticlockwise direction along the lawn edge.
- It should return to the back side of the base station.
- DO NOT BURY THE WIRE MORE THAN 3CM DEEP, OR THE MOWER MAY NOT DETECT IT.
B) The boundary wire must pass through the middle of the base station, under the marks.
- There should be at least 2 meters of straight run up to the base station (see A on diagram).
C) The least distance of straight line of boundary wire should be no less than 1.5 meters. (see B on diagram).
D) The corners of boundary wire should have an inner angle of at least 125 degrees.
E) When there is a fixed obstruction in the lawn (eg. flower bed or tree), it should be isolated.
- Obstructions in the lawn (eg. trees, rocks, flower beds, etc…) can be isolated as shown.
- The pegs should be inserted every 2-3 meters.
- Place the pegs closer together if there are depressions (see right).
- Strip 2-3cm of plastic sheating from the terminal ends.
- This is to expose the copper wire (see right).
- Attach wires to conductors as shown, and tighten nuts (see right)

Wombat III User Manual Troubleshooting Guide
(eg. boundary wire is connected and not cut, or that the AC power has not shut down when the machine is working).
The lamp on the charging station will be flashing red if there’s such problem.
The mower does not start.
