Diagnostics – Robot Mower Rain Sensors

The following describes how to troubleshoot and diagnose the robot mower rain sensors.
The mower could operate in the rain, but its wheels would find difficulty gaining traction on wet & slippery grass.
The Rain sensors are situated at the top of the mower, near the control panel display. They are designed to make the mower return to its charging station if rain is detected.

First, check that the Rain sensor is active. This is indicated by a R symbol on the control display, as shown.

Test the Rain sensors by touching the points on the sensor. Alternatively, you could pour some water on the sensor.
The sensor reading should respond to either of these stimuli.

The ability to troubleshoot the robot mower rain sensors is a very helpful part of the robot lawn mower diagnostics.
