Want to know more about the robotzoo Beetle?
Robotic floor cleaners are not that new, are they? They have been around for more than 10 years. But the pricing until now has put them out of the reach of most households. Now these little labour saving devices get better and better, and cheaper and cheaper as time goes on. The robot
zoo Beetle floor cleaner and
robotzoo Bug floor cleaner put these bots within the reach of anybody’s budget.
What’s special about the robotzoo Beetle floor cleaner?
The robot
zoo Beetle Floor Cleaner is a serious floor sweeper that’s evolved to take on the big jobs. This is the most capable of robot
zoo’s robotic floor sweepers, with just about every feature possible (except maybe WiFi control, but stay tuned for that).
The robot
zoo Beetle floor cleaner comes with an Australian compliant power supply. There’s an ongoing availability of accessories and consumables from the robot
zoo homesite. Rrobot
zoo provides a 12 month BotCare warranty. And there’s benefits of being a robot
zoo Member for anyone who takes one home.
What do you need to know about safety?
Floor cleaners are generally safe to run, when they’re used properly. They usually operate indoors in a dry environment rather than in the wet. They run on rechargeable batteries rather than mains power. And they operate at relatively low power and speeds. It’s hard to hurt yourself using a robotic floor cleaner, but there are some things to watch out for.
Electrical Safety?
The AC Adapter is all important. It must comply with Australian standards, carry the RCM mark, and include the standard 3 pin Australian wall plug. Rrobot
zoo is very careful about these points. Heavy fines and jail sentences apply to anyone selling electrical equipment in Australia that is non-compliant with Australian electrical safety standards. And so they should.
Many suppliers, particularly on
Ebay,
Amazon or Alibaba will ignore these points, either wilfully or out of ignorance. Especially those overseas suppliers selling online who are out of reach of Australian law. There is no protection for Australian consumers who try to save a few dollars buying from these overseas suppliers. So buyers beware!
Device Safety?
If the floor cleaner goes over a ledge, it could fall and hit someone below on the head, or even worse, become damaged itself (just kidding). That’s why some models of our floor cleaners have a step sensor underneath to detect when the floor falls away, and allow the device to back off. The robot
zoo Beetle has this feature.
Proximity Safety?
Sometimes, you will want to stop the floor cleaner from entering (or exiting) a certain space, eg. wet areas, or even pool areas. That’s why some models of our floor cleaners have an electronic ‘virtual wall’ that emits an infrared signal to tell its device not to go beyond a certain point. The robot
zoo Beetle has this feature.
Dianne Balkizas –
I was looking for a robotic floor cleaner that would gather dirt from the kitchen, including some dog hair. The robot zoo is an inexpensive model that does the job! It maps the floor after a few times and gathers the dirt well. It is easy to clean and packs away neatly. Great machine for this busy area of the house and at a reasonable cost compared to other machines on the market.
