Platypus II User Manual Introduction
- The robotzoo Platypus II is a rechargeable battery-driven automatic pool cleaner.
- It is designed for pools with a flat floor, and a maximum incline of 15 degrees from shallow end to deep end.
- The device will not clean all the way to the waterline, as it is fixed with wheels, not rollers.
- However, in the case of a pool that has a curved boundary between the floor and the walls, the device may partially ascend the walls.
- The device will ‘self-beach’ when the battery runs out. This means that it will come to rest beside the wall of the pool, so its floating handle can be easily reached, and the device pulled out of the pool.
Appearance characteristics & structure
- Top Cover: Top cover may be removed by pulling gently on the clips at the side of the device.
- Swing Plate: The swing plate allows water to flow through the device as it is moving.
- Filter Tray: The filter tray sits neatly between the top cover and the chassis to allow debris to collect in the chassis.
- Chassis: The chassis contains the wheels, inlet slots and collection tray for debris.
- Brush: The sweeping brush attaches to the bottom of the chassis
- Floating Handle: Attached by rope to the chassis, to pull the device out of the water.

- When lifting the device to the surface, try to avoid contact with the wall to prevent damaging the cleaner or scratching the wall.
- When the device reaches the surface, hold it by one of the top handles, and turn it off, by rotating the switch knob in an anticlockwise direction by one third of a turn.
- Hold the cleaner on the water surface for 10-15 seconds to allow it to empty of water before removing it from the pool.
Recharging the Device
- Remove the cleaner from the pool and place it near an electrical outlet.
- The device ON/OFF switch needs to be in the OFF position before recharging the device

- Water flows out through the open nozzle to push the cleaner forward.
- Adjusting the nozzle angle will control the cleaner route.
- The nozzles of the cleaner are marked with angles (0° to 40°).
- The cleaner moves in a straight line when the nozzle angle is 0°.
- It moves in a curved direction when the angle is from 0° to 40°.
